On 22 November 2008, convened the 54th Congress of the European Union, Germany in Saarbrücken. Here is a brief overview of some of the decisions of the Assembly of Delegates:

continue European reform process - 10 demands on the future of the Lisbon Treaty
EUD remains committed to the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. Institutional reforms are a prerequisite for further EU enlargements. Ireland's sovereignty with respect to its rejection of the Treaty is fully recognized. Given the agreement of the majority of the EU Treaty Lissbonner the country should at the same time reconsider its relationship with the EU market, it should stick to that rejection. EUD:

- Calls for a speedy conclusion of the ratification process
